Why this journey

Three nights is not long, and this itinerary does not pretend otherwise. It picks the two things worth doing on a first, short visit and does them properly: a guided morning at Giza with an Egyptologist, and an evening on the water.

Everything is private — the airport meet, the transfers, the guide — which on a trip this short matters more than it sounds. You are not waiting for a coach to fill, and the day belongs to you rather than to a group.

The middle day is deliberately free. Cairo rewards a day with no plan in it, and the dinner cruise that evening needs nothing from you beforehand.

Common questions

Is the guide private or shared?

Private. The Egyptologist, the vehicle and the driver are yours for the tour, so the pace of the morning is set by you rather than by a group.

What are the shopping stops on the pyramids day?

The Papyrus Institute, a perfume house and a cotton shop. They are part of the standard route rather than sights in their own right, and there is no obligation to buy.

Does the rate include flights or a visa?

No. International flights and the Egyptian entry visa are arranged by you. The package covers everything on the ground once you land.

How much should I budget for tipping?

Tipping is customary and is not in the price. The supplier suggests roughly USD 7 per person per day to cover guides, drivers and restaurant staff, though what you give is your own decision.

Can we go inside the Great Pyramid?

Entry into the pyramid chambers is ticketed separately at the gate and is not part of the package. Your guide can point you to the ticket office if you want to go in.
