Private, on your own dates · Georgia
A five-day private Georgia tour: a night at Gudauri on the Georgian Military Highway, Gergeti Trinity Church below Mount Kazbek, the Ananuri fortress, a full day in Tbilisi and a day out to Borjomi and Bakuriani.
Twin share · land only, flights extra
Georgia is small enough that the mountains and the capital fit into the same short trip, and this itinerary is built around that. It opens by driving straight up the Georgian Military Highway to Gudauri, so the first morning starts already in the high Caucasus rather than two hours short of it.
Gergeti Trinity Church is the reason people come. It stands at about 2,170 metres on a spur above Stepantsminda, with Mount Kazbek behind it, and the last stretch up to it is done by four-wheel drive — included here, because the road is not one a saloon car should attempt. The way back calls at Ananuri, the fortress above the Zhinvali reservoir.
Tbilisi gets a full day on foot: Metekhi over Meidan Square, the Bridge of Peace into Rike Park, the leaning Clock Tower, the cable car up to Narikala and the Mother of Georgia, and Abanotubani, the domed sulphur-bath quarter the city is named after. A boat ride on the Kura and the Mtatsminda funicular park close it.
The last full day heads southwest to Borjomi, the mineral-water spa town, and up to the ski resort of Bakuriani for the cable car. Three hotel options are offered and the difference between them is the property rather than the programme.
Hotels are named on your confirmation — all are of the stated category.
You leave from a different place than you arrive — book an open-jaw flight, not a return.
Return airport transfers are included and matched to your flight times.
Georgia
Spring (Apr–May) and early autumn (Sep–Oct) offer warm weather, wildflowers, and fewer crowds.
About 135 kilometres and two to two and a half hours from Tbilisi airport, along the Georgian Military Highway. It is a mountain road and the views are the point.
Yes. The track up from Stepantsminda is steep and rough and is not attempted in the touring car, so a 4x4 transfer is built into the price.
Roughly 2,170 metres. Most people feel the altitude only as shortness of breath on the short walk from the drop-off point.
Entry to Borjomi Central Park, where the mineral spring and the Prometheus statue are. The Bakuriani cable car is also included.
The properties only. The itinerary, the transport and the guiding are identical; options one and two are the same price and differ in which hotels you stay at.
No. Breakfast at the hotel is included every morning; lunches and dinners are your own, and your driver-guide will suggest places.
