A working wooden hull rather than a purpose-built tour boat
The waterway the city grew from, not the one it built later
Tanoura spinning on deck as dinner is served
Port and boat charges already accounted for
Two decks, one open to the air and one cooled
This is the other Dubai. The creek is a tidal inlet that made the place a trading port generations before oil, and it is still working: cargo dhows tie up along the Deira wharfage stacked with goods bound for Iran and beyond, loaded by hand much as they always were.
That working traffic is what the newer waterfronts, for all their glass, simply do not have.
A traditional wooden hull with two decks — open above, enclosed and cooled below. Dinner is served buffet-style while the boat makes its way along, and a Tanoura dancer performs as it goes.
The souks, wind towers and old customs houses of Deira and Bur Dubai, with the newer towers rising behind them. That contrast, held in one view, is the reason to do this here rather than further down the coast.
Three hours. Hotel transfers are not automatic — check whether yours is included.

Entirely different water. The creek is the old trading inlet with working cargo dhows and souks on the banks; the marina is modern towers. The boat here is a traditional wooden hull.
Not automatically. Transfers are provided only on bookings that specify them, and we confirm the jetty with you before the day.
A folk dance in which the performer spins continuously in a weighted skirt. It is performed on deck during dinner.
Both. The buffet carries Arabic dishes alongside international options, served during the sailing rather than at a fixed sitting.
