The mini zoo sits at the foot of KL Tower, on the ground floor, and packs animals from around the world into more than eight themed zones. It is small by design and close-up by design — the point is contact, not distance.
What to expectYou move through the zones in sequence rather than choosing a route, which keeps a visit short and easy with children. The meerkats are the ones most people stop longest at, upright and watchful and entirely unbothered by an audience. The parrots are the other favourite: talk to them and some of them answer.
Several of the zones allow handling or feeding under supervision, and the keepers are there to say which animals are happy to be touched and how.
Worth knowingIt is a compact visit — under an hour for most people — and it is indoors and air-conditioned, which makes it a useful stop in the middle of a hot Kuala Lumpur afternoon. Being at the base of KL Tower, it combines easily with going up to the observation deck.
