In Cape Town, the pace builds with a half-day city tour through the historic centre, coastal suburbs and cultural districts, followed by a cable car ascent of Table Mountain when weather allows. The next day takes you deeper into the Cape Peninsula, with a full-day drive along the Atlantic Seaboard, stops around the Cape of Good Hope reserve and time at Boulders Beach, where the penguin colony is one of the route’s most memorable sights.
From there, the itinerary shifts inland with a flight to Johannesburg and a road transfer to Sun City, where the setting changes to a resort environment of pools, gardens, entertainment and optional experiences. A free day in Sun City leaves room for leisure or a paid game drive to Pilanesberg for travellers who want to add wildlife to the trip.
The final touring day returns to Johannesburg for Gold Reef City, where the story of the city’s gold-mining past comes alive through recreated streets, old mine-shaft displays and traditional performances.
