This is a beach holiday with one very good day of sightseeing at the front of it, and it is honest about that.
Two nights in Cairo cover the Giza plateau with a private Egyptologist — the Great Pyramid, Khafre, Menkaure and the Sphinx. Then you fly to Hurghada and have five nights with nothing in the diary.
Five nights is long enough to actually learn the reef rather than snatch at it. The house reefs along this coast are shallow and warm, the dive centres run daily boats, and an all-inclusive board basis means the week carries no further cost unless you choose an excursion.

Common questions
Is five nights too long on one beach?
Not if you dive or snorkel — five nights is roughly what it takes to get comfortable in the water and see more than the nearest reef. If you would rather have more sightseeing, our Cairo, the Nile and Hurghada package trades three of those nights for a cruise.
Can I learn to dive here?
Yes. The resorts on this coast run PADI centres and an open-water course fits comfortably inside five nights. It is booked and paid locally.
Is the resort all-inclusive?
Yes, for all five nights on the coast. Excursions outside the hotel are extra.
Are the domestic flights included?
No. Cairo–Hurghada and the return are excluded and can be quoted with the package.
Is there any sightseeing near Hurghada?
Desert quad trips, a Bedouin dinner and day boats to the islands are the usual options, all arranged at the hotel. Luxor is a long day trip from here if you want the temples as well.
