A 10-day China tour linking Beijing, Xi’an, Guilin and Shanghai with the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, a Li River cruise, and classic city landmarks.
This 10-day journey brings together China’s best-known cultural landmarks and its most distinctive landscapes in one balanced route. Begin in Beijing, where imperial history, wide ceremonial spaces and major civic icons set the pace for the rest of the trip. From Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City to the Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall at Juyong Pass, the itinerary gives you a solid introduction to the country’s political and dynastic past.
The journey continues by high-speed train to Xi’an, a city that still feels anchored to the Silk Road era. Here the focus shifts to archaeological depth and living tradition, with time for the Terracotta Warriors, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the ancient city wall and local craft stops that add texture to the experience. The pace is varied but not rushed, with full sightseeing days balanced by hotel nights in each city.
From Xi’an, you fly to Guilin for a change of scenery. The Li River cruise and Yangshuo stop introduce a slower, greener side of China, with limestone peaks, river views and a more relaxed atmosphere than the big cities. Elephant Trunk Hill and Reed Flute Cave add natural contrast before the itinerary heads onward to Shanghai.
In Shanghai, the trip closes with a polished urban finale: the Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden, The Bund, Nanjing Road and an exterior view of the Oriental Pearl Tower. It is a route that moves from ancient capitals to modern skyline, combining rail, air and sightseeing in a single trip that suits travellers who want China’s most recognisable experiences without having to piece the itinerary together themselves.
You leave from a different place than you arrive — book an open-jaw flight, not a return.
Airport meet-and-assist with private transfers throughout the tour; final transfer details may vary by flight schedule.
