Bukhara Countryside Tour: the Emir’s Summer Palace and Sufi Shrines

<section><h2>Overview</h2><p>Some of Bukhara’s most interesting places lie just outside the old town, and they are easy to miss without a car. This half day brings together a palace, a great Sufi shrine and a city of the dead.</p></section><section><h2>The tour</h2><p>After a stop at Chor-Minor, the tour visits Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa, the summer residence of the last emir of Bukhara, built in the early twentieth century in a mix of Uzbek and European styles, with its mirrored reception hall and garden pavilions.</p><p>Next is the shrine of Bahauddin Naqshband, founder of one of the most widespread Sufi orders, still a major place of pilgrimage.
