Why the morning matters here

Dubai does not reward an afternoon spent outdoors. From about eleven the heat turns open stops into brief ones and the light goes flat and white. Going early puts you at the creek while the sun is still low and striking the east-facing walls of the old town, and returns you before the worst of the day.

The vehicle

A seven-seater, privately, which alters the experience more than it sounds. Each stop lasts as long as your own group wants rather than as long as the slowest of forty strangers, and the route can flex if something holds your attention.

What the four hours cover

The old quarter first, then west along the coast and back through Downtown. Everything is seen from outside — this is a route of viewpoints, not admissions.

One timing note

The main road is heaviest between seven and nine. The very earliest departure is not always the fastest one.
