Four hours in Osaka with a private guide on an itinerary you choose — agree what you want to see beforehand, and change it on the day if something else comes up.
Four hours with a private guide, on an itinerary you set.
Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, Kuromon market or Shinsekai — or somewhere else entirely.
A guide who adjusts the plan on the day rather than following a fixed route.
Useful for a first half-day in the city or for a second visit with gaps to fill.
Walking and public transport rather than a coach.
Half a day is not enough for Osaka, which means the half day you have should be spent on the parts you actually want. This is a private guide for four hours and an itinerary that is yours to set rather than one you join.
How it worksYou say what you are interested in — history, food, architecture, shopping, somewhere specific you read about — and the itinerary is built around that before you arrive. On the day the guide adjusts it as you go: if somewhere is too crowded, or you want longer in one place, or the weather turns, the plan moves with you.
That flexibility is the whole product. A fixed tour has to keep to its schedule whatever happens; this one does not.
Where people goOsaka Castle and its park are the usual first choice, particularly for a first visit. Dotonbori is the other — the canal, the running-man sign, the enormous mechanical crab, and the densest concentration of places to eat in the city. Kuromon Ichiba market is the food option proper, a long covered street of stalls where most of what you buy is grilled or sliced in front of you.
Beyond those, Shinsekai is the older, scruffier, more likeable quarter under the Tsutenkaku tower; Sumiyoshi Taisha is one of the oldest shrines in Japan with its steep arched bridge; and Umeda has the Sky Building with its open-air observation ring. Four hours will take in two or three of these comfortably. Which two or three is up to you.
Worth knowingTalk to us about what you want before the day so the guide can plan properly — a custom tour arranged on the spot is just a walk with a stranger.
Expect walking and public transport rather than a private vehicle unless your booking says otherwise, so wear comfortable shoes and carry an IC card for the trains. Admission fees for anything you enter, transport fares, and food and drink are not included unless confirmed with your booking, because a custom itinerary has no fixed set of them.
The meeting point, the guide’s languages and the group size are set with the operator and we confirm them with you.
